Northern Nevadans for Nebraska

Hello Cornhusker Fans, Alumni, and Friends of the University of Nebraska. Welcome to the Northern Nevadans for Nebraska (NN4N) Alumni Chapter website.

It's my pleasure to have been a part of Chapter activities the past ten years, and to be your Chapter President for the last seven of those years. NN4N was organized in 1999 by a handful of Nebraska faithful and has grown in 12 years to an organization with over 90 members. With over 200 Nebraska alumni in the Northern Nevada Chapter area, along with non-alumni Husker fans, there is still room for further growth. Any person or family may join the NN4N Chapter...we welcome your participation. Application Forms can be found on this website.

Along with Chapter membership, all interested persons are encouraged to become members of the Nebraska Alumni Association (NAA), or, if currently a member, consider Life Membership status. It is through your participation that the goal of NAA--A STRONGER ALUMNI--A GREATER UNIVERSITY--can be achieved. In 2012, we again hosted several annual events, including: (1) a scrumptious Spring Dinner in April(2) a fun-filled golf tournament in June; and (3) a fabulous Summerfest Picnic in July, where I had the pleasure of cooking up some great barbecue. With our members' generosity, we were also able to fund three scholarships for outstanding Nevada students attending the University of Nebraska and a book award program where we presented Willa Cather books to outstanding local high school students.

In 2013, NN4N will continue all of the above activities, with the Spring Dinner planned for April 6th, a golf tournament on June 22nd, and will again host the Summerfest Picnic on July 20th.

Our most active period is, of course, the football season. Our game watch will continue to be at Bully's in North Carson City and a second game watch site is located at Joe Bob's Chicken Palace in Reno. It is so wonderful to have so many loyal members and fans that our chapter can now host two game watch sites! The game watches will be scheduled and announced when telecast information and game times are known.

We sincerely hope you will come and join your fellow Husker fans at the game watches and all of our other fabulous events.

The Board of Directors and I encourage you to contact us with your ideas, concerns, and questions. We're all focused on enhancing this Chapter's contribution to the University of Nebraska and the local community.
